There are mainly 3 types of motors for electric bicycles: ① Brushed High-Speed Motors ② Brushless Motors③ Brushed Low-Speed Motors.

① Brushed High-Speed Motors: Generally, they have good airtightness. Equipped with brushes, they feature high efficiency, strong overload and hill-climbing capabilities, and large starting torque, but produce slight noise.

② Brushless Motors: Without brushes or reducers, they have the advantages of maintenance-free operation and no noise. However, their controllers are complex and they have large starting currents. Currently, this type is commonly used.
